How to Create && Delete a Gmail Filter to Automatically Archive 'Subscribe' Emails
Gmail Filter Instructions
How to Create a Gmail Filter
- Open Gmail: Go to the Gmail website and log in to your account if you're not already logged in.
- Click the Search Button: Located at the top of the Gmail interface, there's a search bar with a magnifying glass icon. Click on it.
- Enter 'subscribe': In the search bar, type 'subscribe' (without quotes) and press Enter. This will filter emails with the word 'subscribe' in the subject.
- Access Filter Options: To the right of the search bar, you'll see a small down arrow (3-line button). Click on it.
- Create Filter: From the dropdown menu, select "Create filter."
- Define Filter Criteria: In the next window, you can specify additional filter criteria. In your case, you've already entered 'subscribe' in the search bar, so Gmail will automatically use this as the filter criteria for the subject. You can add more criteria if needed.
- Choose Actions: At the bottom of the filter creation window, you'll see a list of actions you can apply to emails that match the filter criteria. Check the box labeled "Skip the Inbox (Archive it)" to automatically archive these emails.
- Create Filter: After configuring your filter criteria and actions, click the "Create filter" button. Gmail will apply this filter to existing emails and future ones that match the criteria.
